Never mind the Sex Pistols, where's the ballot papers ?

Whether like me, you think this deal is cr@p, or whether you don't, why has no timetable been announced yet for the ballot of the membership on this deal ? Are Billy and Dave dragging their heels so that by the time the papers go out, the closure date of the ballot will be so near Christmas that mugs will vote 'YES' just to avoid going on official I/A ?? They now need a Yes vote to give the illusion that they got 'the best deal they could' - getting the ballot out quickly is more likely to produce a 'NO' vote, which means more calls for the negotiators to be subjected to a vote of no confidence etc etc

Come on guys, give us our vote NOW

if we can somehow get a no vote the closer it is to xmas the better. we would then hold all the aces. rm would s**t themselves at the prospect of i.a during xmas pressure weeks

I agree with carnoustie and others about the delay.We should firstly have someone from union to EXPLAIN CLEARLY what this deal involves!

This should have been done at least least Friday.We are still clearing the backlog. Surely if we disagreed with the deal it would be better to strike whilst we have the backlog. It all smells fishy to me and we are paying around Â£2.70 a week union fees!
Another thing that may deflate strike action is that the delivery guys have what they wanted [I think}, so they may be reluctant to strike if needed.
I do not want to strike but will go with the majority.
In E3 we have on nights almost as many casuals as staff.This is not a joke!

alggomas. me is a delivery grunt and i have been SHAFTED by this deal.
most of us will vote NO but are worried that we will get out voted by everyone else.

I was worried the other way, that all non delivery workers would accept this offer as I thought it would not affect them as much as us delivery donkeys. Your post has cheered me up no end.

TBTS mate... Coming from E3 ELMC... I know the feel of the place and the fact E16 DO are in there and they are staunch is a tonic....

I feel being a DO boy before i look at BOTH sides of our service.... Not saying i know more but i do see the row on both sides... And DIST...

Our Area Reps are on the front line saying NO...... MC, PROC, DIST, DELIV, So i know we came back off the Unoffical strikes but i feel that the Big London Offices will all say NO.... IMHO..... OUT :lfo :cfo

It`ll get voted in I fear. People won`t strike at xmas all they`ll see is the Â£175 and 5.4% rise back pay from october.

Strangler u are spot on mate. Delay this ballot by a fortnight, then another 10 days to vote, and suddenly Xmas looms large on the horizon... No matter how sh**e we think this deal is ( just reworded and rehatched from the original) people will think long and hard before commiting themselves to IA in December.Any support from the public will totally evaporate if ' Aunty Maud's card fails to arrive until 2008' !!!!!

Despite this, am still preparing my thermals, just in case!

WRONG . . . . . . we "delivery guys" don't want any flexibility, don't want the D2D negotiated seperately, don't want long and shorts, don't want to be kidded we're getting 5.4% when it's really only the original 2.5%, don't want to cover leave in summer months without docket, don't want this bullsh*t deal accepted at all and most of all don't want RM to divide us all at this crucial time . . . . . .
