was just wondering since I haven't been employed long enough to qualify for paternity pay(only been here 9months) but is there any way I can try and claim something off the government for the 2weeks I'm off work for?

Paternity leave
• You can normally take up to two weeks’ paternity
leave, if you have at least 26 weeks’ service, have
responsibility for the child’s upbringing, and are one
of the below:
» The biological father
» The mother’s partner/husband
» Matched with a child by an adoption agency,
or are the partner/husband of someone
who has been matched
• If you have 52 weeks’ service you may be entitled
to receive full pay during paternity leave.
• You may also be entitled to shared parental leave.
And see this...
When your wife, partner or civil partner gives birth or adopts a child, you may be entitled to Ordinary Statutory Paternity Pay (OSPP). Find out more about your entitlement to receive Ordinary Statutory Paternity Pay and how to claim it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
