That's great! I'd love to see the reply of the out of touch PEC to that.

Brilliant .... I hope you post the reply on here.

Your points address the difficulties that I have with this agreement as a delivery postman. Are there similar difficulties for MC and MDEC staff?

As an mdec employee, I am disappointed that they have done nothing to address the disparity in pay between mdec keyers and opg during the discussions, btw I am a ex-phg and embarrassed that nothing has been done on this issue.

5.4% on basic pay. - Again fine on the face of it, but when you take into account that the 5.4% is in reality for 6 months only, this allied to the £175 pound lump sum actually gives a pay rise which is actually worth 3.75% approx, not as good as you first think
Worse than this - there's only 1.5% next year and only if flexibility is pushed through. So it's more like 2.5% - also I understand the ESOS money was already owed, so that shouldn't be taken into account at all in the back pay.

The last time I looked the sun is at it's peak at 1pm, with the transferred heat at it's maximum between 1:30pm-4pm.

As for flexbility, it needs to be negotiated at a local level. No right-minded manager is going to have half his walks cutting-off. I remember similar scare mongering with the new trolleys prior to SDD, and the impact of SDD, all of which proved not to be as bad as first thought.

I think what we are finding on here is that there are numerous situations througohut the country. It seems from my career in RM that the most militant offices managed to retain the most priviledges and the most compliant lost theirs, but in general delivered better performance.

Not entirely sure of my slant on this, but thought I'd throw the fishing-rod out

Accept point re ESOS, but it's clear that this is being givn in lieu of Back pay, but you are quite right we are owed this money anyway, it seems we are being ripped off left, right and centre!

I think the point here is, that in the space of a few short years we have moved from delivering 1st thing in the morning, to the middle of the afternoon, if the heat is uncomfortable now, in October, what will it be like in the summer months? Only one answer as far as I'm concerned, totally unbearable!! It is also a fact that government ministers are constantly advising us to spend the least time possible in the Sun, with issues such as skin cancer etc, so what do RM do? send us out to deliver at a time of day when from starting delivery it is only going to get hotter. I am convinced that sick levels will increase in summer with members going down with heat stroke./exhaustion.
