Overtime skimming

Our office seems to have a culture of overtime skimming, I was short paid 2hrs this week.
It would seem the majority of the office have been short paid.
The answer is just book it this week and you'll get it next week.
So looks like overtime will continue to roll over hoping people forget or not notice.
Just like the roll over of lieu day's keep rolling them over as we'll never grant you any.

Keep a record of the hours you have worked for the week and cross check on receipt of your payslip. Any shortages text dom of this so you also have this on record or contact HR Sheffield with the phone number on your payslip and advise that you are short in your wages.

I think you should start skimming in doing overtime then,I can't believe it's such an effort to be paid overtime at all,do they really forget to input it or whatever they do ? Do they really think you would forget it?

can you not organise not doing overtime in your office ? until the backpayments are made and management agree to fixing how they process OT just have your office stop doing it for a day or 2. Its something your rep should be able to arrange if this truly is a widespread problem in your unit.

I'd be happy if as an office or better still a group ,there was a work to rule.
I don't work overtime for fun or financial gain,it's the workload.
That said I'm not working for free. Maybe I'll cut them a deal I just finish 2hrs early Saturday and call it quits.

We had a gaffer who used to skim our overtime and he blamed the computer for short changing us 45 mins every week . Even though our o/t claims were at least 60 mins everyday , in the end we binned the overtime and cut off / worked our hours everyday . He soon left after that SEEYA

to right don't do any overtime till you are paid what you are owed you don't need a rep for that , why do you think r/m don't want clocking in and out machines as then the dims cant doctor the o/t when its over there office budget as it would go straight to wages , and the royal mail want monthly pay ? yer right. lol

Probably comes from above. More than likely told to skim the o.t in the hope that people don't notice.

If you skim an hour from 100 posties there's the company getting £1000 of free work

This IMO is a big scam that they pull. They have a quarterly budget I believe. So.... if you skim a few hours here and there every and continue to push it a week down the line, eventually when it comes to the end date of the quarter, the next weeks overtime which includes the skimmed OT is obviously not included as it forms part of the next quarters budget. This then carries on and on and makes it look like they are closer to hitting budget on a quarterly basis than they actually are.

That is only a theory, but I believe it is a fairly educated guess.

Shouldn't have to ask to be paid what you worked and have to chase it up to never get it, the election material's been a nightmare, with lapsing on top and told we won't get paid even though the lapsing's what took us over. Sooner they get rid of election payments the better too. Would take o/t on a clocking machine any day.

100% wrong, lapsing is only supposed to be to fill unused time, not to create going over :arrrghhh

Thankfully my overtime payment seems to be spot on, but I do keep a record just incase.
