Mail generally does drop off a little during the summer, 2 weeks ago our DOM said predicted traffic figures were very low for the coming weeks.... since then we've been absolutely hammered, especially this week, been going 2-3 hours over every day, it's been like Christmas but with added sun burn and heat stroke!
Shows how much faith we can put in traffic figure predictions!
Summer Lull as they used to call it doesn't exist anymore. It used to when mail volumes dropped alarmingly but now the summer is as heavy as any other time of year. As I have said to our managers people don't suddenly go " oh it's June I'm not going to do any online shopping until September" - if anything people are going to be buying stuff for their holidays or for the kids over the summer time. What makes me laugh is RM constantly tell us to adapt and look forward and not how we used to work and yet they are the ones in this case still looking in the past of 5-10 years ago.
