poll card dispute AGAIN

been told this morning we have only to be paid for 80% of number claimed
some of us myself included counted every one of them so are insisting on full payment
others were told by their line manager they didnt need to count them but multiply them by 2 and add 1/2 as well
because of this they are saying the are over total area count by 20,000 and everyone to lose 20% of claim
and will look at individuals claims who counted them later
absolute f***ing farce
i believe this is deliberately withholding wages and should be taken further by union

I actually wish we had such precise clarification as what you've got... haven't got a clue if/when/how much we are going to get paid for them.

There isn't an area count as such, it's an area budget. We had something similar when they said that we were 20% over budget for our polling cards but they had calculated the budget at 3p per item instead of 3.9p which is just over 20% light. They are not the smartest so question the figures and the costed price per item.

This is all very damming for why is it this way the government pays for the budget of an area in so subsidising a privatised company and not those who deliver the election material even though the company insists they should not be paid overtime! This sounds illegal and possibly breaking the minimum wage act as going over your time a paperboy would be paid more!

I got paid 6.6 for each card and got full payment

I can only suppose it is to do with the demands issued to the union for a pay agreement for this year with their line of we cannot double pay us they are just milking us all whilst they can! But if Labour get in Moya will be packing her bags in a hurry just think of the tax on £2,000000 a year and Nationalisation she will be shitting bricks!
