what vans get the driver allowance

and does everyone get an allowance for driving these vans/cars or is it a tied to some form of legacy thing

for example if any of the above qualify for a driving allowance would a typical new starter whose done a change over and is driving the van/car on a duty be paid a allowance?

Its tied to a legacy thing - nothing to do with the van driven. If you were employed before (I think) around 2001 then you receive a driving allowance. If employed after then you don't.

Ford Transit Connect, always thought these were a decent little runner and comfortable ride.

We had one of those about 2 years ago. It was a good van until it rained and it steamed up really bad and you couldn't see a thing

Vauxhall Combo all day long for me - the Fords coming in second. The Fiats/Pugs are shite.

The combo's are ridiculously uncomfortable, crap driving position, knees are always banging on the dashboard (and I'm only 5'8) and so low down you have to grab hold of the door frame to pull yourself up and out of them!

My favourite is our ratty old full size Transit... surprisingly nippy, brilliant turning circle, easy enough to get in and out of, great visibility

Bippers are rubbish, they're like a reverse tardis... look quite big on the outside but tiny load area on the inside.

I get £4 a week 'reserved rights' driving allowance as I used to do driving 2 weeks out of 3 pre 2001 or something.I know they are trying to do away with it now that we are privatised.

The shitty combo's are even worse to work from if the driver parks next to a high curb,you have to crawl out of the things and keep banging ya noggin when you work out of the side door if it's not jammed.

Nightmare! No limited slip diff so wheels basically just spun. Worst van ever.
