Cutting off and leaving tracked.

If i cut off stating i do not have time to do the loops do i have to take any tracked parcels/letters etc for the loops im leaving? I left 2 loops and there were some tracked items in there,i am being told i should have taken them,i said i did not have time as stated so why would i drive around delivering tracked to areas i have cut off my round??

As instructed by line manager even if it means doing even less loops.

As said above, if manager requests you prioritise tracked when cutting off. Make sure you get them done. When he asks why you left more loops than usual tell him you had to deliver the all important tracked first.

Tracked and specials should always be prioritised even if they are all you have time to deliver!

Most people prep their smaller tracked items in with the rest of the Mail so what are you supposed to do go rooting through your bundles looking for tracked items , no chance , whatever is left after cut off is their problem .

If instructed to take all Tracked before you leave the office, even though you are cutting off, you follow a reasonable request. Which reasonably means you could end up bringing back more non-priority mail, because of time lost delivering Tracked to sections you did not take the other mail out for.

It certainly is not standard practice in my office to take Tracked and Specials for sections I''m not taking out. No specific request, everything gets left in the frame for sections I'm not delivering, in order to finish on time... What's left becomes managers' responsibility to deal with as they see fit.

Not much good lino having a moan when you return from delivery, if this is not something that every OPG knows in your depot.

Exactly, why is tracked being prioritised over other types of mail? All mail entering a D/O should be treated equally as it's had any delay at the mail centres. Tracked is treated unfairly as it's traceable, wonder if the regulator would see it that way?

We are asked to take tracked when we leave mail.
Its quite simple,You check and see how many tracked you need to take from what is left in,Lets say 8 for arguments sake,Then just leave an extra 20-30 mins in the frame and tell them,Easy.

One to chalk up for next time. If you know you are cutting off, keep the tracked seperate and skim off as needed. Keep a mental note of how many tracked you have remaining. Then ensure you have enough time to get the tracked done seperately at the end. Once I only had time to deliver normal letters to one road but did all the tracked because that was what I was told to do. I was told that I don't have a choice about what I do during my contracted hours (No doubt trueblue will say that isn't in some archane agreement buried deep in a file somewhere). What the DIM wants, the DIM gets. As soon as my hours are up, its see ya later.

No there is no archaic agreement applicable to this, unless you include the 318 line of "as directed by your manager".

When instructed to deliver tracked as a priority over other streams of mail, as part of the overrunning procedure it is a reasonable request, but make sure it gets logged (again as per the agreement).
