there was thousands more polling cards today, and they decided in their wisdom to put lapsing on. they then gave the message..''if you hand your lapsing back, you WILL NOT be paid for the polling cards. was like putting a red flag to a bull. whole office walked out. outside the gate waiting for A/R. he came and a RM big knob. the big knob was going up to people saying we are breaking the 2007 'flexibility' agreement?? wtf... he was ignored. the rep went in and came out half an hour later and said. we are getting paid for the cards even if the lapsing is left. but the time everyone was stood at the gate has to be paid back...about 40 mins.

We have been told there is no rush for polling cards to be delivered.

Well the silence has been deafening from the CWU yet we have been told this is a union agreement to deliver all poll cards in one day why are these poll cards so damn important? If we are at the beck and call of the management what is the point of the union!

I don't think it has been defeaning. Poll Cards are posted by the candidate either first class , second class or by DSA. That candidate pays for that delivery service and therefore Royal Mail are obliged under their licence to delivery it by that spec. The only difference between the normal first class , second class or DSA that you deliver every day is you also get a payment for delivering the Poll cards. Now if your an office that normally cuts off and they the poll cards will be over your model week than there should be sensible and pragmatic discussions.

With regards to all other election material addressed you have 3 days to deliver.

To add to my post I fully support those offices who take action where Royal Mail are not being sensible in terms of the extra workload which is required by Poll Cards.
