Polling Cards

We were told this morning by the DOM that if we wanted payment for delivering the polling cards we had to complete the whole delivery. If we delivered most of them but didn't want to work over our time we would receive no payment what so ever, even if we had done the majority. Apparently this is a national agreement with the CWU. Is this correct?

Bloody hell thats bad!

We were told to do them within 3 days or not get paid, we thought that was bad enough!

I'm sure doms make it up as they go along lol

Our dom told us poll cards coming tomorrow and all have to go same day . I brought him in the agreement that was posted on this site last week to which his response was oh your right it's 3 days . They want to look good to their bosses by saying they all got done in 1 day it's sad it really is .

send our new leader in delivey mark baulch an email and ask him , be on the cwu site,

The agreement is in the global announcement, nothing has changed, as per the screws are trying it on.

It would be interesting to see how much Royal Mail actually get paid for the delivery of the polling cards. We get 3p per item, but I was talking to a council employee who was delivering polling cards where I live and he said they get 13p per item.

Only 3p!?!? we get 6.5p and had 4 days to do them

Leeds area.
We get 3.3p x 1.5 making just under 5p per address.
Where they get 1.5 from I don't know as some houses had 4 or 5 and very few only 1, hardly any with none.
We were told they all had to go today if we wanted the payment.
Absolute joke.

payment per item is probably a good barometer of how strong your union rep is in your unit.

I believe it has something to do with legacy agreemants - though I can't clarify it any better than that. Does seem odd, I'll grant you, but I don't think its down to union reps one way or the other.

We get 3p in our area due to some crazy union rep agreeing it years ago. It works out less than the minimum wage, therefore I leave them for those who want them to sort out. Also the 1.5 per adddress- who made that up, they get weighed and those who do them get the exact amount, frankly they are welcome to them.

Anybody else been given the sheets to fill in for claiming for polling cards and other unaddressed election material, it's got a representation of a frame on it split into boxes.... maybe I'm just a bit fick but I can't make head nor tail of it as to how you're supposed to fill it in!
