I am a n shared van, my partner has 600 calls and is full time, I am part time and have 300 calls as longer drives, last time he claimed 600 an I claimed 300 despite delivering about 450 each, Dom said my round is smaller so can't claim more despite delivering! So was out of pocket sums the rm up so I have cut off several times since and will do again the p,ace is a shambles and is only going to get worse

Sounds to me like your partner is a c@nt, surely between the 2 of you the agreement would be deliver half get paid for half.

That's the norm for van sharers. If you are unlucky enough to have more drops on your side, you claim more.

However, aren't you counting the items and claiming per item?

You see the problem with that theory is that it doesn't really make much sense.
If you are only paid to deliver them when do you prep them?

According to Royal Mail you prep them in your own time so it stands to reason that some of the payment must be for the time it takes to prepare them for delivery. If that's the case what happens on a lapsing duty, when do they prep them and are they expected to do it for free in their own time? Does someone delivering 100 calls on a lapsing duty deserve the full payment for those 100 calls even though they haven't prepped them? Who should prep them on your partner's shift if they are on IPS and it's your job to prepare both duties for delivery? If the payment was only for delivery should you be doing both duties, where is the time for that?

It's not as simple as it appears.

You could also say passenger delivers more items as well, as loops are slightly bigger. 50/50 is the only fair way.

We've never prepped them for anyone apart from our shared duty. Leave them to one side for Lapsed duty, O/T, part timer or anything else. Its not our responsibility to so re payment etc...
So we get paid for our dutys only & half it.

Until we get the answer who gets paid and for what!

They will be scrapping the payment by the sounds of it. But will they be adding it on to hourly rate? Who knows! It would definitely seem more fair to me. In our office you prep your own on your own time and it's paid half prep, half delivery. There's too much uncertainty between different offices regarding things like this and the only true way of making it fairer for everyone would be a universal hourly rate covering all payments.

Payment will be going for these soon anyway so we will all get sweet FA and everybody can be happy that they have been treated equally!
