ROYAL MAIL PERSONAL ACCIDENT BENEFIT SCHEME
This is to inform you that CWU Headquarters has been notified that Royal Mail have made significant changes to the Personal Accident Benefit Scheme. It has now been renamed as Personal Injury Compensation Scheme and the new terms and conditions greatly reduce the benefits available to our members.
I must make it clear that no discussions, or negotiations, have taken place with Royal Mail either with the Legal Services Department or the Postal Department regarding these changes.
I am currently in the process of arranging meetings with Royal Mail in order to clarify the situation.
Royal Mail have indicated that the new terms and conditions will be applicable from the 1st April 2017 and as a consequence we will put on hold all claims under the Scheme until the situation is clarified.
