who opted all postal addresses in the d2d scheme?

why is it customers have to opt out when they never opted in the first place?

surely there must be some form of law on this, most of the people i deliver to see the 6 pieces of junk in my hand and as soon as i hand over there mail + junk there bins are aggressively opened the junk goes in then its slammed shut.

the d2d's are getting out of hand, pizza, double glazing, iceland, tesco, you name it , i've seen doors slung open and the d2d's thrown out in the street , i usually get the

"i dont want this crap" dont you see the sign "no junk mail"

im fed up explaining they can opt out there whole argument is they never op[ted in the first place!!!!¬

its not junk mail as someone somewhere thinks ooh just what I was looking for.I know one person who complained that she no longer received a certain d2d as she'd opted out.So who are we to decide what is junk

It is not junk mail as junk mail is unwanted addressed mail. The sign should say no free leaflet or no unaddressed mail. There is no need to opt in and the millions of companies that advertise would not be able to afford to ask people if they want to receive their leaflets. Its a bit like saying you bever opted in to watch adverts on TV. I am sure the people who say they don't want this item would be the first to moan if it contained a free voucher for something they wanted. I had it a couple of year ago, customer moaning about d2d's then moaning that they did not get a d2d with a voucher for some free butter. I think the amount of customers who complain about d2d's is pretty low to be honest

It is junk mail crap that people don't want I've seen people throw junk in bin and telling me I don't want this sh*** through my letterbox I think people should opt in to get unaddressed mail instead

The revenue from d2ds helps pay our wages. Theres always the odd customer that gets funny about them. But direct them online to opt out if there that bothered. Delivering D2ds helps royal mail deliver packets at a more competative price.

I think someone did that a few years back, don't think Royal Mail were too impressed though!
It does make me wonder sometimes as to what we are delivering sometimes, for example garage door leaflet to blocks of flats, ( with no garage), double glazing to social housing tenants,who have no say as to whether they can install double glazing etc. Are these things targeted, or do Royal Mail just take any old thing on, now that there appears to be no limit to the number of d2d's,as we don't get paid separately for them. Funny that.

People hate getting D2Ds, yet nobody opts out because they don't know you can.

If it was opt-in, then you'd get maybe 2 or 3 people per walk opting in, and the company would lose a fortune.

Well, I thought it was partly a debate on the quality of them, and if we could get the business to target them more accurately, perhaps we would make more money, and make the job more secure.
