Public Support
During the previous strikes the Posties had a lot of public support (me included) - based on the great service provided pre this summer. If you vote against this settlement I suspect it will evaporate. I don't think that the country can put up with a service which is not using the worlds most modern technology and best working practices practices. As much as no-one likes change I think it will have to be imposed painfully or constructively.

What do you actually know about the details of the proposed settlement or RM's future strategy?
Constantly amazes me how peeps blindly swallow spin and propaganda with no critical analysis, then regurgitate it as if it was the gospel truth.
Not everything you see written down or broadcast is true, try to get your mind in gear or are you to thick or lazy

Re: Public Support
they actually use the most up to date modern technology that you can get.......people and we are getting the brown stuff dropped on us from a great height. i get a lot of public support on my round but those who dont, do not understand what both the job and pay deal entails, if they did they would realise that we have sacrificed about £400 each (some more) to try and improve the service for both ourselves and customers.maleorder wrote: I don't think that the country can put up with a service which is not using the worlds most modern technology and best working practices practices.

I'm not following spin - only stating how I see it - actually a large user who has until now tried to support the service. When you say 'try to get your mind in gear or are you to thick or lazy' isn't too helpful or constructive is it?
Don't you want to hear how your customers feel? (ignorant or otherwise). By the way I think you mean 'too thick or lazy'
The real point of my post was to raise the subject of public support. Right now most people think the dispute is over.

No. Not done any research - and neither would 99.99% of your customers - we are only trying to put forward a view that the public support you have had in the past will not be there in the future if you go back on strike. I love telling buyers who suggest their parcels have been 'lost' will get to them eventually safe in the knowledge that after over 80,000 deliveries you have genuinely lost less than 0.02%. I have supported the service to any one who will listen in the past but faced with laying people off (seriously) if more lost days happen in the run up to Christmas - I couldn't continue to support you. You would feel the same way if you were in my shoes.

well disgustedcollections, stopped, deliveries later and later, post offices closing all things being fought against which affect the customer.
use our competition if you like but just remember we still deliver the mail for them and if you send packets with them they could be double the price we charge, if they dont like your adress they dont have to deliver to it, and if they dont want to deliver at the weekend they dont have to, it is up to you.
