Door-to-door is an important part of our business. That’s why it’s crucial we prepare and deliver door-to-door items correctly and to a high standard. When we don’t, we lose business.

We are distributing materials for the council election campaign in Scotland from Monday 3 April 2017, on behalf of the Electoral Commission.

Please ensure you deliver all door-to-door material with care, using the ‘stacked’ method of preparation and avoiding ‘nesting’ materials inside others.

It is especially important that political parties and local and central authority contracts are not ‘nested’ within each other, as this attracts complaints.

Please take special care during these peak pre-election periods.

Correct time frame

We also need to make sure that we deliver door-to-door materials in the correct week.

Delivering items early might seem to be good service, but customers do not want their items delivered earlier than they have booked. This is because they will have prepared their resources for the contracted week.

Can somebody tell me why we're getting those claus Olsen newspapers every f***ing week all of a sudden? They're a f***ing nightmare to handle. Hands become black with ink, and dirties up customers proper mail.

I suspect it means.less profit,for Royal Mail, as customers who pay for them to be delivered must realise a huge percentage are thrown away without so much a second glance,(remember the god awful Sun newspaper drop,that nobody wanted) ,so if they are bundled with 6 others, and go straight in the recycling bin, the chances of stumbling across something of interest and a sale resulting , are even lower.
Just think, if we were paid by item as we used to be, how much 7 of them would be worth,wonder why that particular earnings stream was got rid of.

Yeah but when we get none we still get the money. Swings and roundabouts, I still think on my walk at least, I'm better off now than I was when we were paid per item. I am full time though and would probably feel aggrieved if I were getting pro rata.

Its all about job protection losing contracts = losing jobs. More work = more jobs or no job losses.

Ha, if only that were true, mate. Perhaps, in other companies it is, but Royal Mail?
Nah, not in my experience. I doubt there are few companies in Britain, that can on such a regular basis, rip the piss out of its workforce quite like RM can.

Don't quite get how they are paying pro-rata for d2d's. Everyone preps and delivers the same amount regardless of working 20 or 39 hours.
