Becoming a union rep
There's a vacancy in my office so I've registered my interest in standing and sent off a form and I've got to email an address along with a photo anyone know what to put? Had enough of all the bullying in my office enough is enough.

Becoming a union rep
If you done any courses outside of Royal Fail, you could include them, if you've not done any at all, you could just write a small summary of why you think you will be a good rep and what you wish to tackle in your office like B+H or Health and Safety issues etc.
Most of the time the union is that desperate to get anybody doing the reps job they will just put your name up on the union board(if you have one
) and go through the motions of advertising it ,hey presto when nobody else puts in for it you are head honcho!
My personal advice would be don't bother.
You get mithered to fook including when you are on holiday
The managers will all be out to shaft you and will routinely bullshit to you in your resource meetings.
It sounds good on paper but being mithered about it's too hot, it's too cold, there are no bog rolls ,the bog is blocked etc is feckin depressing at times, as well as all the other s**t like ,she's got an easy duty and she's only been here 5 years routine, it's like having 200 kids.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

GO FOR IT.
The only reason royal mail staff have not got the same conditions that staff at DPD etc is because of the union. The union is only as good as it members & its reps. Staff will & always will moan & complain about everything under the sun no matter what. What have you to loose? Try it, if you don't like it, jack it in.
Good Luck

"It's like having 200 kids" haha a perfect summary.
Still it's a very rewarding job if you get satisfaction out of helping people.
