Cutting hours

Hi at our D.o the Dom is cutting hours of the people who are on 30 hour contracts,
we been working full time hours for the last 4 years, but now we have asked to make the contracts 39 hours he has made changes!!!
He said that the duty is part time!!
yet been covered as a full time duty for years by float.

Getting all the 30 hour workers to stick together is proving to be a NO.
Union rep doesn't really care

What do you guys think we can do?
There is also word that he is getting another 20 hour worker in, surely we should get more hours before they get anyone else in?

If all 30 hour contracts don't stick together then there's nothing you can do.

Regarding the new 20 hour duty, it really depends what type of work theyll be doing, it may be impossible for you to do job A and job B as job B may be time sensitive therefore requires a new person to be dedicated to that role.

Your DOM is not cutting hours in your contract of employment which he/she would find this to be very difficult but removing the FT hours that you have enjoyed regularly for the last 4 years and this should have been addressed before now why your Contract of Employment was not changed to reflect the actual hours being worked in the 6 month review contained in the 2014 Agreement for Agenda for Growth & Stability and long term success which had legal bindings. If you are of the opinion that union rep doesn't really care then progress to area/divisional CWU rep for to be actioned within the resurrected IR Framework and lodge a disagreement to explore through the various stages. If your information is correct on the 20 hours then again you need to bring this up in the disagreement.

They will cut hours and continue to do so when you got plebs coming in a hour earlier putting door to doors together prepping walks running out on their breaks delivering and finishing a hour before their duty time. The DSM sees this and thinks "I'm not having this posties going home a hour before their time and me paying out on overtime" You only have yourself to blame guys.

Never understood why people will not stand together, don't bother with union rep they are useless did u realise they get £18.00 a week for doing nothing, go to the main depot where your post comes from normally they have a CWU room, tell them what's happening usually they will help u . The union rep should have a number or ring the reception at the main depot.

For fk sake I've told kids, grandkids we are all off to Australia for Xmas
