sick pay depends on how long you have been at RM. you won't be put on a stage for just a week off, unless of course you have had other absences within the last year which if you include the week off will total more than 13 days or 3 separate absences.

A lad at our office last week was told he could not have it off with pay, or as holiday, and had to take it off as sick, maybe its different at each office.

You were lucky. A vasectomy is classed as "elective surgery" and as such, unless there is a medical reason for it, there is no automatic right to paid time off work, even for the recovery.

A guy in our office had it done and he was in work the next day. He got no time off (only the day for the snip). Mind you, he was a bit tender for a week and did walk like John Wayne!

Really me. The procedure has changed since the olden days. A few years ago I was booked on at 5pm one evening and was out delivering on a bike the next morning.
I spoke to an army guy i met out on delivery recently as I was surprised to see him home. He told me he had time off for a vasectomy. I laughed so hard it hurt more than the snip did!

they used two house bricks on me, just clattered me bollox between them. I asked the doc if it would hurt, .... he said only if his thumbs got caught in between the bricks!!wannabeek wrote:Really me. The amount of time off you need will be directly related to the size of the operation.
If it is only a little one you can be back at work next day.
If it is a big one you could be off for a couple of weeks.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I'd need at least a month....
