Overtime / scheduled attendance - parcelforce

Post by Rugrat1783 »

Hi,

Hopefully someone may be able to help, as being given the runaround by the management.

I exchanged shifts with a driver (I was previously a night worker), I had half an hour scheduled attendance the driver had two hours scheduled attendance a day.

We exchanged shifts, with the agreement of the depot manager.
Now he works my old shift with half an hour scheduled attendance, and I have a standard 40 hour contract.
He was a reserve driver, and that is now what I am doing. I have not signed the 48 hour op out as they are stating that as nothing is in writing, I do not need to be given scheduled attendance. They are stating overtime is optional, but everyday the number of parcels provided is a 10 hour shift. Since changing shift I have said I need to finish at 3 once, and the management hassled me about this.

In the past month I have worked till at least 5 on all shifts bar 2.

The scheduled attendance rate is £10.97 yet overtime is paid at£10.31. This may not seem like a lot but when taking into account the overtime hours I must work (when the drivers getting scheduled attendance are sometimes back at half 3) and the fact that when I take annual leave I will loose 10 hours pay a week it is over £1000 a year.

I don't mind working the extra hours, I just want to be paid the same as the majority of drivers (route drivers and reserves drivers all have scheduled attendance), with the exception of three of us who transferred after Christmas and those who rejected the offer.

My union rep, who isn't the most helpful stated it is due to not being a route driver, and if I have a problem to log a grievance.

If anyone else has had the same problem or any advice it would be hugely appreciated.
