poll card policy

Hi, hope someone can help!
I've searched high and low for the agreement on Polling Cards, which states how many days you have to deliver them etc.
Can some kind person point me in the right direction?

Why are some offices paid 3p while others are paid 6p per poll card ? Should it not be the same all over?

No. its a legacy of a previous agreement covered on RMC extensively.

Can you get paid overtime as well as the payment for each polling card?
We had the poll cards on Monday and they caused me and my partner to go over by an hour as we went to every house and our delivery is f***ing huge, we can just about get round most days but that is when it is `normal` and missing the odd shithole house out no chance on Monday, today we tried to book overtime and was told off the bullyboy that as we had already been paid for the poll cards we couldn't book overtime.....is that correct?

Can't ask rep as he is off doing the CWU conference shite.

I haven't got the link to hand but I do remember from last year from the CWU that you should be paid overtime if you worked past your time, but the wording of it was quite vague. Which means that this is not enforced in Delivery offices, where Royal Mail managers will simply say you either get paid for delivering the polling cards or you get paid for working the overtime instead. Last year, it was better to claim the payment for delivering the polling cards.

Yes you can be paid both at the same time as long as the traffic volume on that day higher than normal. In other words if you decide to deliver them all in one day but the other mail was light then you'll only be paid for the poll cards.

If the traffic was so high that even just taking where you were going would have put you over then yes both overtime and poll cards.

On and why did you take them all on Monday. if it was your choice - No overtime

If you were told to then put a grievance in to get your overtime as the agreement quite clearly states Addressed Items 3 days.

Yeah but the bullies always say the traffic is lighter even when it is jacked

, the turds know that our round is the worst in the office with the most drops and parcels or knock ons and we was told quite aggressively that we must take all the poll cards in 1 day as he(the lino) said it was light, it might have been light for his bum friends back an hour early on their piss easy walks but as usual we get stiffed.

The only reason we went over was because of the poll cards in the first place.

As I said we have no union rep as he is away which is a common occurrence as he only works half a year!

Put a grievance in......they bin them or get their union buddies to talk you out of it.

Don't get talked out then. I put in a grievance on a different matter and won. If you know you are in the right stick to your guns, there are consequences right and wrong, but only you can decide if the payback is worth the cost.
