The news of this is deafening. Anybody heard anything, CWU quiet on this front, surprisingly, more packets and parcels but no more reward.

I think the pay rise will probably be the least of the unions priorities at the moment.Obviously it would be nice to get a pay rise at some point this year,but pensions will be top of the unions list,which potentially is far more important then the pay rise at this current time.Most workers stand to lose thousands under the new proposals that royal mail want us to undertake.

We asked our union rep the same question, seemed to think the hours will drop and money stay the same but not anytime soon

Not bothered about a pay rise, just hope the cwu can stop all the stuff rm want to bring in and get rid of otherwise its going to a nightmare working at rm

gas,electric,water,car insurane,fuel,council tax,food all going up,are our wages going up or is it staying the same pay FT for 35 hour week,hurry up union get it sorted quickly.

Depending on the unions outcome on pay talks , shorter working week etc I may soon be £4 a week better off as I may have to cancel my Union subs

Yes, a pay rise is nice but at what cost? Extra £5 a week for £5000 a year off my pension, no sick pay for the 1st 3 days and loss of £100 xmas bonus just for starters. No thanks

You're right about everything going up.

But.

1. Tax allowance increase for 17/18 is worth £100

2. I made £190 last year by switching banks, & will be making £200 this year by switching again.

Just saying, there's more than 1 basket to put your eggs in. No offence intended.

On a positive note interest rates are not going up so least most people's biggest monthly expense won't be increasing anytime soon.

Popular myth spouted be remoaners. Prices are going up after a sustained period of stagnation and this always happens after such a period. Whether we voted to stay in or out, prices right now would be on the rise!

Anything you buy from pretty much anywhere else in the world, costs 20% more than this time last yr. Fact. Have you not seen the £ fx rates?
