Some advice needed.
If a stage 2 grievance is taken by a DSM and it goes to stage 3 should the manager taking it not be at a higher level than DSM?
Any advice appreciated.

I haven't contacted HR, is that something i should do? I was just instructed to send the appeal of the stage 2 back to the manager who held the stage 2 and he would forward it on to HR
Thanks for any advice

The fact that you have disagreed with your grievance at stage 2 level by appeal this will automatically go to a stage 3 with an independent manger at a higher level of authority. If your grievance was with a line manger then it should have started off as a stage 2 grievance and the Employee Relations Team at Sheffield would have appointed a manger to investigate your grievance and I am assuming that this DSM was appointed.chuckychucks wrote:I haven't contacted HR, is that something i should do? Yes you are correct, it started at stage 2..a DSM was appointed and now that DSM has passed it to another DSM for stage 3, the new DSM is still within the overall area which i thought was wrong but when i questioned this i was told it could be another person of the same grade or higher, this is what the procedure dictates..so am i being informed incorrectly?rehabron wrote:The fact that you have disagreed with your grievance at stage 2 level by appeal this will automatically go to a stage 3 with an independent manger at a higher level of authority. The wording states independence of the manager taking the stage3 grievance. That to me means outside of the area where there is no direct reporting to this individual from within the area.
