How much are managers paid?

Just out of curiosity.
line manager?
Delivery office manager?
etc...
Also if anyone knows how do bonuses work for management who collapse duties and improve 'efficiency' etc...

I don't know either. These things should be known to each other and the wider world to be honest. Legislation should insist on it. The Corbyn side of the Labour Party want to Introduce wage councils again which would decide, a good idea. I am a fan of knowing everyone's so called 'worth' in monetary terms.

I only know rumours, our line manager supposedly earns £28,000 a year, so the DOM will earn a lot more. I am personally on target to earn about £23,000 this 12 months to April on a 30 hour contract (sometimes do SA's and regularly work overtime on the round I do, which is a ful time duty awaiting a full timer to do it).

If you look on SuccessFactors you can see jobs for line managers and doms with the salary detailed.

7.5 tonne drivers are on more than line managers in delivery, which job would you rather do. I've seen a wage slip of a deputy line manager and they got £15 more than a WPC

Tbh. I'd obv rather be a driver the line managers at my office are incompetent bullies and regularly want to engeuge in tear ups with my colleagues/union rep. But the lorry drivers earn thier money, whereas the management at my office go home as soon as the office is empty- 11:00am-11:30am ish

And if you go on the RM web site all grades' salaries, wages and allowances are openly listed, along with T&C's, etc.

i'm not , what you earn has got nothing to do with me. Therefore ,what I earn has nothing to do with you,this is half the problem in Royal Mail ,too many people interested in what other people are doing in case they are missing out.

So you are saying acting managers get same as ft managers know for a fact they dont

Answer to original post too much!! My observation being they couldn't organise a "drink" in a brewery. Personally I am clocking down my last 10 years just taking the money. In any other business our line managers wouldn't last five minutes, a real opportunity exists for RM to make considerable savings without impacting on service levels.

agree with ur post but no chance of rm getting rid of them only hard working posties will suffer.

The terms of Xmas bonus where; continued managerial role apparently so they asked them to do at least one days delivery/packets.
Didnt qualify for OPG or management as a consequence. Bull or true don't know for sure!

Previous Dom used to get just under £30 an hour or so he bragged.

There is a scale:

DoM £67,589 + max 15% Performance.
Manager £54,875 + max 15% Performance
Lino £44,897 + max 15% perfomrance.

Performance Bonuses: (DOM rates, pro-rata to salary for managers/linos)

1. Bullying bonus:

0-5 Bullied £1,000

6-10 Bullied £2500

10+ Bullied £ 4,000

+£1k for each one that leaves as result if F/T, £750 if P/T to a max of 5 leavers.

2. Lapsing Bonus:

For each above leaver's round subsequently lapsed and forced onto rest of office:

Up to £5000 if none done on docket but forced into normal hours, sliding scale reduced down for every 10% not forced into normal hours, in £500 increments.

3. Purchase Orders Reductions bonus:

Complex, but essentially a percentage saving of office costs to a max of £3750 PA. Various items have different rates, (40% of the cost of each box of rubber bands for example, less than the average used for your size office). Each PDA battery not replaced when due has a £33.33% bonus rate, and all docket not entered and not spotted by the OPG's has a handsome 50% rate.

4. Management Substitute O/T bonus:

For each hour spent on frame, IPS or throwing off and not offering the work to an OPG, £5 (extra to salary already being paid) up to a maximum of 250 hours (£1250 lump sum) PA.

5. Spurious Disciplinary Supplement:

Basically on a 10% scale of savings made by dismissing OPG's entitled to IHR or EVR or ER as opposed to the 5-figure sums they would've been entitled to being Good Leavers.

6. Survey Payment:

A fixed £500 sum for having 95%+ Employee Satisfaction Surveys returned on time with the correct boxes checked to ensure a minimum 80% total satisfaction rate among OPG's.

(i) The combined payment of the above bonuses shall not exceed 15% of the Gross Salary of the manager in any one financial year.
