How do you cope with this in the afternoons booking in parcels? How is it resourced? Do you get everything done within contract hours? Is overtime used most days to clear? Ever opened to public while trying to serve with items stacked high in York's? How stressed are you working with SPS? any help into how it's effecting day to day running of the caller's office/locker would be great.

We have a late callers duty that books in the D/L parcels and serves the public, the meal break on that duty is covered by a collection driver (time built into the SA before the collection starts) plus the late callers duty gets help booking in by another collection driver who has about an hour built into the duty to help. Having done the late callers duty it can feel like your getting no where fast and the pile of parcels never seem to reduce but it still gets all put on by the end of the day.
Do i get stressed with SPS? Not that i can recall, i think its a great system but remember its only as good as the information that is entered onto it. So if some clown enters the wrong details then it can be a bit stressful looking for stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if RM tweak it a bit as more and more parcels have 2D barcodes, a lot of whatever you have to enter into SPS will probably be contained in the 2D barcode

it's just i basically end up trying to book 6/7 yorks by myself as the morning person adds the break onto the end so leaves around 10 past 1 doing a 6/2, i make sure to take my break before as to not leave the locker unattended as i do a 8:30 til 4:30 our callers closes at 1:30 everyday other than a wednesday which is open til 8, in which i have to have help that day or i ltreally wouldnt be able to book anything being there by myself.

just find thursday n friday impossible as it usually gives me 2 hours 45 mins as i need time to lock the office by myself, to book mountains of parcels, if not there reliant on the same people to do overtime in the morning which usually isn't enough time anyway as the max they will do is a hour.

then you end up getting really stressed due to having to find packets out of yorks to serve customers due to it not being booked in

ontop of them making u lapse, throw walks off etc leaving 1 person in the locker.

its been like this for months n nothing is getting sorted.

u can use 2d barcodes now, not all work, some give u wrong info or if they do work u still have to put address n name in, is quicker but not much

Flag them ones up with the line manager, hopefully they'll email the relevant persons to get them sorted, btw is it normally post office ones (printed on horizon labels) or firms ones?
