What is it like being a postie in London

Thinking of transferring to London from a rural delivery office. All the delivery offices look quite small. Do they have less rounds in smaller offices? If that's the case then not much chance of getting a duty. Got a lot of seniority so hoping to get my own duty after transfer. What is the chance of going to other offices for overtime? Someone from London please explain the setup for me

Good luck with the transfer and keeping your contract hours and seniority. Hasn't gone well for peogle i know.

If I was working in an office and had waited for a longtime for a duty I would not be too chuffed if someone strolled in and took a vacant duty just because they may have worked for a few yrs longer elsewhere within RM.
Would imagine a rural office would be the nicer place though

Some guy just move to my office with 37 years seniority he's now second most senior person in the office out of 150 people. It doesn't matter if you are "not too chuffed" about it. It's just how it is
