getting worse

rather than a 35 hour week,why don't we work mon-fri ,Saturdays are an absolute nightmare,so much time wasted,customers struggle to the door with there eyes closed,where do I sign etc,its so frustrating, the amount of times ive nearly got a card written out and walking away,they then open the door,all this adds on so much time,i tell customers had a nice lie in,i get mine tomorrow ( sun ),if im lucky

Mon to Fri would be preferable, I don't know anyone who wants bills fines etc turning up on a weekend. Mon to Fri in USA Canada Ireland and probably most other countries.
Saturdays are becoming as heavy as a Thursday.

As much as posties would like it the union are totally against it saying it would cost jobs . In my opinion jobs have been going for a long time now so maybe the union should listen to us for once .

Rest day covers going would cost thousands of jobs are you one?

It would cost jobs but in my opinion it's just a matter of time before Royal Mail apply to change the USO to a Mon-Fri service. Saturday could probably continue as a premium paid for service as other couriers do.

No im not but my office has been under staffed for over a year now as I know many others are so I don't see there being massive job loses

Early in the week is quietest so we would still work Saturdays, have Monday off and deliver Monday and Tuesdays mail on Tuesday.

Don't believe that what we might like is a consideration.

Would you feel the same if it was your job on the line? The thousands come from approx one in every six would go.

Jobs will go in many ways in future evr ,ihr people retire we even have casuals in our area filling jobs so I don't see massive job loses , just my opinion of course .

I doubt Monday would be dropped as too many businesses would want their mail delivered on what is a normal working day.

fully agree a few duties in my office most of there businesses are closed on Saturday,its a no brainer

It will cost jobs CR that's why it wouldn't be a good idea. There would be no need for Reserves.... so they'd all lose their jobs. Just because you find Saturdays a pain....would you want anyone in your office to lose their job?

Personally I find Saturdays an easier day than the rest of the week and treat them as a "Treat", less mail and finishing on time (for a change).

I personally don't mind working Saturdays and would rather have a day off mid-week... but I agree it is the most frustrating day of the week in terms off customers not being in or being in but not being arsed to answer the door or taking 10 minutes to get their arses out of bed to answer the door!

30 years service and i couldnt give a flying f**k about reserves its because of reserves rm will be pt in the future
this has all been planned out for last 10 years it didnt just happen
and the cwu have been complicit in the destruction of good jobs with rm over that time
too many greedy executives with too many fingers in pies so to speak
