I can't see why not Royal Mail don't stick to their side of the agreement as it is, such as protection of full time jobs.

As a collective unit we can't as we have voted for the Union executive to be our voice

Context would be helpful.

The Union shouldn't agree anything that's outside the scope of national agreements. For instance agreeing members shouldn't take a break.

The Union can agree something that's outside of one agreement as in when a part of it has been superseded by another agreement (Agenda for Growth for instance)

The Union can go against agreements if they are part of an Authorised and legal ballot for Industrial Action.

The Union can go against an agreement if they raise a disagreement with a change, it then reverts back to previous practice until the situation is resolved.

With regard to context, the office I work in works a one in four,we had a preference vote for 1 in 4 long and shorts,1in 6 long and shorts 9 Day fortnight if we stayed as we are 31 members of staff will fall under the mtsf agreement,1 in 4 was voted (very close) for. Mangers and union both want 1 in 6 rep came down said we have made a mistake and should rethink our preference.cwu and royal mail made a commitment to a 1 in 4 that aside I find it unpalatable that the agreement for 2010 transformation and beyond can be cherry picked.

Stick with one in 4 don't let union or management bully you. Nine day fortnights are fantastic by the way. we went from them to 1 in 4 now on 1 in 6 and just feel like I'm at work all the time now! Your office voted, don't back down. Ours got conned by union saying there'd be so many jobs lost and we can make more full time duties....blah blah blah. We are still understaffed and only get 8 weekends off a yr..... If you are a duty holder.
