Evening,

I have been referred to an oestepath and physiotherapy through my GP and given tramadol for the pain and 2 weeks off sick.

I would like to go back to work as soon as I can, but can barely walk to the toilet at the moment.

What is the procedure when I go back to work as I need to be careful it doesn't happen again. Is there anyway to get a high seated van and a round which doesn't have flats etc?

Many thanks

You will shortly be receiving the standard telephone call from your line manager on setting up contact details as per the attendance procedure agreement and a request for your consent for a referral to OH Assist which is currently still active as later this year part of their responsibilities to be transferred to HR services for cost saving. At the telephone referral you can explain your concerns and your request for adjustments to be made as you have indicated in your post to assist you in a return to work. Do not be pressurised into a face to face interview with your line manager which is the action that they are presently adopting until you feel fit enough to attend for an interview. RM may also provide you with a number of visits to a physiotherapist at their cost to further assist you in returning to work. The Equality Act 2010 depending on the severity of your condition and the recovery time needed may also apply.

I was off with this for over 4 months quite some time ago. The trick is to keep moving, I was constantly pacing round the house because a) my doctor and physio told me too and b) because I could get comfy sitting or lying down

I wouldn't be rushing back until, at least, you see the physio.

Do you drive? I found mine was caused by getting in and out of the Combo vans (as they have such low seats) They swapped me into a Bipper (and later a Partner) and the symptoms eased quite quickly! I still get twinges now and again and an achey leg at night! (4 years on too!)
