Am not a Union rep . Our Rep is on hols ; so the Management take advantage.
The whole place was toxic today. The intimidation level was 'off the scale'
Had a Lino constantly walking though aisles staring at people and making notes .
I had words with him.
Also ; he has been making notes on walks that have 1 FT and a PT ; to see if the FT can prep both walks with no assistance.
He also Prep tested two people in my aisle. But funnily enough they had mail and D2D,s in the frame.
I said he could not do that and that the frame should be clear.
Response was ..' I can test whatever and whenever I want'
One of the people that was 'tested' was under undue stress ; and according to the idiot (Manager) was underperforming!!!
I know what the prep test rules are ... but I do need a link to it. So I can print it or mail to myself
Something that I (in the absence of the Rep) can take forward.
Many thanks

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

why don't you put in for a sub role as rep when your normal rep isn't here.

One last thing is I may.... And this is the crux of the matter.
For the one minute prep test . Is it documented somewhere that the frame must be clear.
Also ; can the test consist of any mail or must / should it be Mech only
Thanks

The link that Susan has posted is unagreed.
What you're looking for is the agreement, Teebs has it in downloads somewhere along with the 4 step process and all the gubbins....

Sorry to drag up a thread but our office is experiencing similar issues. Someone from "higher up" in RM was in out office last week stating that indoor workload is to be cut majorly, we were told we MUST be sorting a minimum of 30 sequenced letters a minute and 22 manual. This computer program they use shows there is too much time available even though we believe we struggle the majority of the time. Managers walking about with clipboards intimidating us telling is that if we don#t perfom to the agreed rate we will be having a meeting with the WPC. We no longer have an office rep and the area rep tells us thats the way it is. How would this issue be raised further up the tree? Thanks for the links for the IPS Standards agreement, have printed them out to keep handy.

Well your first step above everything else is electing a new office rep.bobthepostie wrote:Sorry to drag up a thread but our office is experiencing similar issues. Agreed. Problem is no-one wants it. Manager always manages to grind the reps down and they end up chucking it through stress.norm wrote:Well your first step above everything else is electing a new office rep.bobthepostie wrote:Sorry to drag up a thread but our office is experiencing similar issues.
