You never know, with RM changing the Pension Scheme that should generate extra money & with postings down at Christmas the writing might be on the wall.

I doubt it,the last ones in My office cost them a small fortune and most only had a year or two to go anyway

not sure how EVR works, but always thought it was the job that became redundant not the person.
at ours a couple of years ago, about 4 took EVR and a few months later they were setting on new staff?
on shorter contracts though, perhaps that's the loophole

VR, in it's previous forms, won't ever happen again. Now we're a privatised country someone somewhere will point out the unpalatable fact that paying off someone in their fifties with £x thousand makes no financial sense whatsoever.
Let 'em suffer until retirement (or they leave) is so much cheaper for RM and the pension funds.
It's all about the bottom line now.
