if two people are sent to another office and the driver uses his own car. other person can't drive .would you be covered by any post office insurance if involved in any accident en route. or would RM wash hands of the situation.

No, yes.

You need business insurance on your own car (numerous other threads discuss this, commuting to more than a single regular place of work), better still get them to provide you with a van.

No

Nor RM Insurance either

You have to rely on the driver having the correct insurance, though I think as a 3rd party what he hit and his passengers are covered, his car won't be unless he has business insurance.

Is it worth putting a sticky on this forum as this question gets asked so much?

Good idea. The answer is only use your car to get you to your office, If they want to send you anywhere else its up to RM to get you there and back. :wave

I believe (I'll happily stand corrected if I'm wrong) that if you are performing business using private car insurance then you are simply driving un-insured, If you hit someone/something then you are in the s*it!

100% correct.

But passengers, innocent victims etc can be compensated by the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) which has been set up by the insurance industry to provide compensation for accident victims who have no prospect of making a claim against the responsible party’s insurance.

Although uninsured driver claims can be made, those considering making them should be aware that the process can be more complicated than claiming directly from an insurer. The Motor Insurers Bureau (or MIB) is an industry-led organisation set up to compensate victims of accidents involving uninsured or untraced motorists.

The initial objective for the MIB was to compensate innocent parties for personal injury. Now they also deal with property damage claims (vehicle damage etc).

I am sick to death of people at my office using their own cars on delivery, happens everyday just so they don't have to wait for a lift out with a hct or want to finish early. Makes rounds look easy, union isn't interested and one even claims fuel. They have business insurance and they believe they atf fine to do it as others do. One is even a new starter.

Assuming you mean they are "Not insured"

Don't worry about it, one day I assure you the local traffic police will put an end to it when they are caught and their car is impounded with the Mail in the boot. All it takes is one accident or routine stop check ;)
