If i am on a Stage 1 after absence with depression, what happens if i go on sick for a while? Having a really bad time at the minute!! Is the worst they can do a Stage 2?

ask to be referred to OH Assist to start with if you do go sick again as it's an ongoing problem that may get worse or be prolonged.

The attendance procedure has formal review prompts but it also has INFORMAL meetings. These informal meetings are supposed to be used to avoid formal stage prompts which a good DOM with some common sense would use. If you feel that your medical condition of depression which would have been diagnosed by your GP at the Stage 1 level is to be reoccurring then would suggest that you arrange for an informal meeting with your DOM to explain your concerns and have your union rep accompany you and have this meeting noted. At this meeting you can request a referral to OH Assist for their intervention and recommendations to assist you in your health. Depression has no quick fix and RM should take full note of OH Assist recommendations and that of your GP. Failure to do so could have serious repercussions.

Hope you feel well again soon, sound advice from people above,,however remember,you are protected under equality legislation,so get your manager to refer you to OH Assist. The important thing is to get better,not worry about stage warnings. Early intervention can do you jo harm.
