Revision time (again)

Told today at a meeting we are to undergo an office wide revision with a planner again.
Reason, predicted mail decline. WTF!

Anyone else facing this as talk was its happening or going to across the board?

A simple equation. Predicted mail decline = Office revision + Bigger rounds

The amount of work an OPG does compared to 10 years ago is unbelievable.. But it will never be enough we are all lazy tw#ts according to higher management and the lower level managers literally do nothing all day and should have been made part time years ago the savings would be massive! you couldn't make this up if you tried

So many ways to save money instead of making jobs bigger, the amount of money spend on cleaning is ridiculous, cut the admin staff who work in delivery offices, close callers office collect parcels from local post offices, so many ways rm could save money instead off making jobs bigger.

Packets are up + 2d codes + more collection boxes incoming + d2n
Mails down while everything else negates that & some.
We gave facts of walks increasing with this, while he couldn't prove otherwise

Royal mail wants to save money, first thing why do we redeliver packets specials ect. They pay postage for it to be deliver if no one in, we will keep it safe, free of charge for 2 weeks for them to collect. If they want it redeliverd there should be a charge . Why we re deliver again and again for free. Plus most letters I see that have stamps on , have not been stamped. I can only imagine that these stamps are being re used. What other company would let this happen.

We are doing another revision although it did go to dispute, will take two years. Heard on the grapevine they will get rid of 4 employees.Not sure if that means shifted to another office or P45.

Revisions are done to give the ex wcm managers something to do. Generally you have a revision just as your office is settling down and running 'well' from the last one. Then....... No consultation with staff, just using non real world made up figures, some joker comes in on £silly and throws the whole office into a bad mood, disrupting everyone's lifestyle and causing masses of overtime after the re sign while everyone gets used to their new duties. By this time, Mr planner (ironic title by the way) will be thinking of another 'plan' to screw your office up. Call me synical if you like....... Didn't think so, lol.

The post office refused to take local collects from me they had no space for them so that's a no go. Delivery jobs have been cut to the quip, p/t is not working whole walks are not being taken out because of no sickness cover. Revision will add jobs if they use geo-route as packets take much longer and that is our growth area also 2d scanning tracked and deliver to neighbour has come in since my offices last one. The company should invest for growth not cut to fail.

Mail might be down but that's not what slows you down. I've had days where every single house gets a letter (council, elections etc), but because there were no packets, I've finished an hour or more ahead of my time. Other times on a Tuesday with no mail but loads of packets, I've had to book or cut off.

So even if mail is declining, the time to complete a duty even before a revision is going up, not down. The goal is try and squeeze the lightest days as close to your finish time as possible so that no one ever finishes early. Every other day you'll fail but someone will be willing to book it on overtime.
