We had the same speech in my office....apart from the bit thanking us for all our hard work, that is.

Madness truly madness. People are so at each others throat that when they exercise their legal rights with the support of the Union they are seen as somehow less worthy. I expected it in the press, but on RMC, it has me dumbfounded. I guess when we next go on strike you'll be wondering why posties are getting a slagging off, when they are only exercising their democratic right. But then the shoe will be on the other foot.

We had a thank you speech and bacon rolls made for us, and of course he mentioned that he has a lapsing plan all ready for the new year. Fully expected it though, as long as he doesn't implement it while we're still wrestling with end of year/January sales...

We've been here before Lads & Lasses. You only have to lapse IF you've got the time to do it WITHIN your normal duty timings.

If you have that time, then you're not doing anymore work than usual.... If you haven't got that time, tell the DOM and let him sort it.

What is so difficult to understand about lapsing? It very similar to Households, prep them in Royal Mails time...deliver them in Royal Mails Time. IMHO Lapsing & Households only become a problem for Runners, and those seeking to cut corners (and finish early)? Otherwise business as usual. If it's a case of Managers Bullying staff into lapsing or getting on their backs about how long they're taking....well that's another problem.

The idea of "ring-fenced" duties is because of the Equality Act and reasonable adjustments. This means that the duty they're on has had those adjustments which means in effect the absolute opposite of your assertion. If reasonable adjustments have been made to those duties, it wouldn't make operational or even commercial sense to remove them and then adjust another duty just to placate those who think its wrong.

Not specifically just DDA against non DDA but it seems to be a growing trend, at least on this forum, for postman to turn against each other. Driver against non driver or full time against part time seem to be two examples here.

well, isn't it amazing, a DOM can predict lapsing without the traffic figures!!! ask them, how he knew the traffic figures weeks in advance!!!!

u lot who lapse are a fool to yourselfs not stop moaning just use trollies work to your time ..................simple
use your brains, false figures, all lapsing is is to get rid of full time jobs and see what they can put on your duties u tits

Apparently I am a problem in my office, don't run, cut corners and use my trolley, much to the disbelief of my boss, fancy using a trolley on a trolley walk. I start on time and finish on time, take my break. 18 months ago I asked for more hours and was told I can't have any more time on my walk, they have never been more right, not one minutes overtime since. Lapsing is a rarity, giving the boss up to a bag to deliver is the norm.
