Can somebody please post up the agreement between the union and Royal Mail regarding evening parcel delivery supplement payment....the higher powers say it doesn't exist but a few people on here have mentioned £23 weekly allowance for those working til 8pm. I need it to show the DOM...please anyone??

If you work up too 20:00 you are entitled to the evening shift allowance which is a payment of £20.95 and only those who work between 20:00 and 21:39 qualify for this payment.

I have sent Admin the pay directive and I am sure they will put this up.

If you finish at 20:00 than you are entitled to the evening shift allowance. If you finish at 19:59 you do not qualify.

Is this just if you're delivering parcels? How about if you're doing a late Wednesday in the callers office?

Thanks for that.

For the shift allowance does every shift have to be in those hours. Half my shifts are a 5.30 start and one a week finishes after 8pm so would the shift allowance be proportional?

check with your rep but I thought that they only had to either start or finish in the times to qualify.

You will only receive the appropriate shift allowance for the days you qualify.

i mentioned this post to the rep today, he said he's never heard of it, and the lino was there who said the same. rep is getting onto the branch today for clarification. meanwhile, as my mate said......if it is payable (and I believe it is by what dingo said) why aren't these pay rates advertised on EVERY notice board on every D.O. up and down the country. because how many people have not been paid this money when they are entitled to claim for it when they've worked till 8pm, simply because they did not know about it. the management certainly won't let on if they think they can get away with not paying it.

Ask to see the pay directive. Most delivery reps and DOMs would not know about evening allowances as prior to 2000 unsocial hour payments were an increase in hourly rate by something called NDA.

All collection drivers , Mail centre and RDC workers who work from 20:00 to 21:39 qualify for the £20 allowance

So manning the caller's office in a DO at that hour doesn't qualify?
