How long does a sick record go back?

How long does a sick record go back? I understand about stages etc but I'm talking long term, for example if you go sick 4 or 5 years ago is it still on record or does there come a time where it's expired?

Every absence is on your record for life, if you take special leave, go on strike or sick, it is all there forever.

how long off sick before you go to half pay ?

as I believe it was 6 months in any 12 month period ...... but at the back of my head i remember it being increased to any 6 month amount in a 5 year period

any help would be welcome ..... along with alcohol

6 months' full pay in any rolling 4 year period, same with the half-pay which follows for the next 6 months.

Not exactly true it would be dependant on what stage of the attendance procedure you are on and if you have improved on the attendance standards that RM have set at each stage in a 6 month period. If you have triggered a stage1 and in the following 6 month period you had 1 absence of no more than 4 days it would follow that your stage1 would be wiped clean, But if you had 1 absence that totalled 9 days which is an improvement on the 2 absences or 10 days to trigger the formal stage 2 prompt then then the stage1 would remain in force for a further 6 months.

On your example given you have a clean absence record and now have 4 absences or 13 days before a stage prompt is triggered.

A stage review would be triggered ON the 4th instance OR 14th day of absence.

Any employee can take 13 days and/or 3 instances without a review being triggered. Unless already on a review, whereby the next standards apply.
