Tracked through the roof

Has everyone else seen a massive rise in tracked items this year?

We are not the biggest of offices,94 staff,Last xmas the biggest day of tracked we had was 963.

This week..............Monday 1068 Tuesday 1240 Wednesday 1769 Thursday 1391.

Our DIM was saying it was one of the streams that has rapidly increased this year!

21 walks - 598 Tracked today, 554 yesterday.

Yes, our tracked have been up 40% on last year..

bah humbug i say.

maybe in the highlands and less populated areas where the old generation are dying off and no new people to fill in that gap, london as a whole is getting more and more people = more traffic.

traffic figures across the business should be broken into districts so when they try to dump more roads on peoples walks we can point out that we are more heavy then ever and there making the job unbearable on those who already put up with the latest revisions which has made our lives more and more difficult, no wonder they cant hold onto new staff for more then a few days/weeks.

revisions on the areas that have little to no traffic or even a decrease on traffic and revisions on areas that have a increased traffic amount to make there walks actually achievable thats what we need not some generalized figure they use to shaft us.

Except for writing the number on a P739 we essentially treat all 2D barcodes like tracked items now and we have more than twice as many of those as we do tracked items.

Certainly had loads this week. I wonder what percentage of tracked is down to new contracts won and what percentage is customers who were already using Royal Mail but have switched from normal first or second class or signed for to tracked.

That would probably only work if you were to count every single item for your walk everyday or every parcel was barcoded and all letters and flats run through the new machines once they start to get rolled out

They always get it wrong. A few years ago they invested loads in letter sorting machines, while letter volumes were going down. They should have invested in packet/parcel sorting machines instead. Then buying the small delivery vans, which are now expected to carry two posties, two trolleys, 14 loops and all of the large packets. They keep getting it wrong and we pay for it

Was told we usually receive around 200-400 on a Tuesday this week we had over 1200 on the Tuesday and over 2000 on the Wednesday, but don't worry pressure comes into effect next week!

Pressure hasn't started yet,the blue P739 cards we've been using all week has nothing to do with it

Amazon have started using Tracked again, probably their own delivery service can't manage the volumes for the Christmas rush

Would be good if the PDA didn't keep crashing , can't get a signal from EE on half my walk so just deliver them
