Ban on overtimefor the Xmas period

Area manager says ban on O/T for the Xmas period and if we go over he wont pay any O/T
whatever is left is carried over till the following day
Where the mail going to go if the frames are crammed with mail from the day before
its only going to escalate
So much for privitisation

simply everyone cut off everyday and he will soon be begging people to do ot then hopefully everyone will refuse and leave him in deep shite.

Looks like a nice relaxing run up to the festive season will be had by all

When the backlog starts it would be dreadful if a local newspaper somehow received a picture of peoples cards/presents sitting undelivered

I would think he has got it wrong the whole of R/M is run on O/T any ban would be a disaster for the company.

We were told that most days we should get finished in time and if there is a problem then we have to mention it before we leave the office , lot of town walks with packets building already

You need to contact you Cwu Area Rep to find out your Christmas arrangements and ask him or her what the agreement is for delivery arrangements are, and when you get the answer ask to have them sent to your office

I can only guess that your Area manager wants himself sacked for the new year,Or someone is telling porkies.
On another note,I really dont understand why Royal mail fail to see xmas pressure has already started,Talk about behind with the times.Years ago it was the 2 weeks in the run up to xmas,Mainly for the amount of cards that were sent through the post,Now its packets but people order in november,Monthly paid members of the public especially those paid on the 25th, 28th, 4 weekly, last working day, and the 1st of the month will all be ordering like mad in just over a week.
Get with the script Royal Mail,Its bad enough year round with the packets but in 2 weeks the s**t really hits the fan.

Same happening in our office and others nearby. All part timers in at 10am to unprepped walks and 30 unsorted Yorks left inside
