How much notice for a reserves day off?

Hi, I'm finding it difficult to get a straight answer from management about how much notice is expected to be given for my days off so was hoping somebody on here could tell me?
Also, this is the second year of two years employment that I have been given last choice of holidays, is this something I'm within my rights to complain about, I realise I haven't yet been employed long enough for first option but surely not last again?
Do the number of days holiday given alternate between 22 days one year, 23 days the next then back to 22 days to account for the surplus half day holiday? (22.5 days annual leave?). I've been given 22 days on all occasions yet I've noticed that many other people are scheduled in for 23 days.

They should be resourcing at least 14 days in advance so you should have at least that notice.
If you were last for your holiday pick last year, then you should be first this year, there is no more seniority anymore, so that doesn't wash.
You should be on 22.5 days each year unless there is a local agreement to do it differently.
Usual thing, chase up your Rep, Area Rep and aove if they don't give you the correct answers.
Search the downloads on here for the answers and stick in a greivance, if they hassle you over this get your Rep[ on it, alot of the time you have to stick up for yourself and they will back down.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, I will stand my ground, I just wanted to be clear on the facts before further discussing the subjects with management so your response is very much appreciated. Cheers for that again!

reserves are lucky to find out on the saturday their day off for the next week

many a time the rota is put up on thursday then taken down to be tweaked.

as with holidays, we have 5 groups though this dependent on the size of the d/o
your are put in a group and never leave it, 5th pick 1 year then 4th and so on
there's no fairer way to do it for me.
if you buy a week or 2 they are picked after everyone as picked their initial 4 weeks
now the reserves who also get an extra 6 or 7 days credited due to been given B/H off that's another argument

Our reserves rota usually goes up the Friday before the following week, Thursday if you are lucky and then is often taken down and changed. I think Its a disgrace but no one seems to do anything about it from a management point of view. The union have made a grievance about it but it's been delayed for months by management delaying tactics. Goodness knows why it's like it, it's just pure incompetence to not be able to produce it 3 weeks in advance.
No reserves get a Saturday off unless on holiday or sick, even though some weeks there are reserves left over on a Saturday for the management term of "mopping up"
Some at work says it's just so all the mail is out of the Delivery Office early on a Saturday and the management can go home.
Any requests for single days leave get ignored and when raised the standard reply is "Oh we'll deal with that tomorrow"

This is something that should be dealt with at the weekly resourcing meeting between the DOM and the CWU rep.
When i was IR rep we had very similar problems in the unit with scant,if any notice given to reserves. I am not taking credit, however i informed the DOM (an easy man not to get on with) that it was a matter which was easily dealt with, and also something which was under National Agreement.
My office reserves had 2 weeks notice thereafter.
Please speak to your rep, if he isn't able to help have a quiet word with your AR.
