partner due in december

If my partner goes into labour while im at work, can i just ring management and tell them i'm going to the hospital and leave work there and then? what if the managers have gone home? they know im due paternity leave but just wondered what happens if it starts while im at work.

If you need to leave leave. It's managements problem to plan for things like this.

Just don't go off sick before cuz if your manager is like mine he'll try and force you to start your paternity before the baby's born.

Hope they didn't get away with that! They cant force paternity on you.
They can however force maternity if your female and over 29 weeks and are sick due to pregnancy.

Your manager will arrange for any eventualities. This is their problem. Keep them informed.
You will know if she is going in labour it doesnt always happen like in the films. And you will have time so dont stress.

He got told to bolt but cant see my sheet with lieu days cuz he wont print it so don't trust he hasn't put it through as my hols. Baby was born yesterday 1.30pm :) thanks :)
