Scheduled Attendance, an agreement that you commit to work overtime on a regular basis, usually set hours. Slightly enhanced pay rate, and payable when on Annual (un purchased) leave.

A way for the managers full-time mates,the rep and his full time mates to get an easy 10 to 20 hours o/t a week collecting mail while us part timers havent got a chance of a full time contract.why they can't make the sa duty's available for part timers to go full time is beyond me.We have f/t blokes at our place that do sa pretty much every week while after 8 years st r/m I and many others still haven't got a chance of f/t job..

When an SA becomes vacant (rarely) part timers can go for it,it is all done on seniority (Or should be)........I may have one or two issues myself about that!

so if you sign for a sa overtime role paying say 1hour less then the normal going rate, what advantage if any do you get, also sa payments being given on annual leave ???

Yet some of those same full-timers will nod like dogs when their union rep tells them we aim to stop Royal Mail from moving to a fully part-time workforce

meaning if the role pays usually 6 hours, on sa they pay out 5 hours.

im still confused as to what sa is , if these duties are up on the roster , and you are paid at sa rate for the overtime do you get any thing else as mentioned above? sa on annual leave ....sa being given other then the work you have signed for.

sa overtime.

this is not a regualr duty for the person that can sign for it, but sa on certain walks in our office is usually paid 1 hour less then the normal rate, 5 hours instead of 6.

now what percs will i recieve if i do such a duty say next thursday if i sign for it.

i have worked out that sa 5 hours vs 6 hours normal pay is basically worse off , but does any sa overtime add to the greater good, do i get any addition percs from working any sa duty as overimte.

as none of the above is really any help to me, as these sa duties as ovetime are not regular and change from walk to walk day to day.

Sa pay rate is a higher rate than your normal rate.
If a round starts 7am and finishes at 3pm and you're on it on a day off you book the 8hours.

i still dont get it, i must look real styupid but here goes.

say for example

you are scheduled to work on thursday but theres a duty available to sign for overtime say you sign for half that duty on SA being 2.30mins instead of the usual 3hours (6 hour belated duty)

if i sign for half of this duty on sa at 2.30mins are you saying i should be entitled to anything else?

im very confused

The only perks with SA is its guaranteed overtime as its contractual, whilst its still being offered. SA is paid when on annual leave (not purchased leave) based on the average SA over a certain period (4 weeks IIRC)

There are no other "perks".

SA - Scheduled Attendance. Is Contractural Overtime.
