LLCS roads allowed to drive at night in London

Post by varlanadrian11 »

I am an agy driver and literally new comer in Royal Mail fleet. I am supposed to do a job after 23:00 in London and I need to get with a single decker from A40 to A316 direction to M3 and I've got two options: South Circular Road, but on junction with A316 turning right is not allowed and A307 (Kew Road), but lorries over 16.5 t are restricted at night. Does anyone know if under circumstances I could use A307 even restricted. Do Royal Mail lorries have any special permission to use this kind of road. Thank you very much!

Shouldn't your route be already planned by management?

Yes, it is, but I am advised by their map to use South Circular Road to access A316 and, as I said, there is no way to turn right on junction with A316, therefore I must find a way to turn around afterwards. Doesn't make too much sense to me......

Head to Chiswick roundabout and take A4 into London and when you get to roundabout take A316 is another route.Take it your heading to Jubilee mail centre? How about A40 then M25 then M3 could be easier

Thank you very much for your reply, it will definitely help. Yes, I am heading to Jubilee and the last option with M25 - M3 is the best, except the driving time, it could be longer than expected. I was told off the last time for taking a break in Jubilee of half an hour before returning to depot in Woking so....I am also trying to reduce driving time and complying with LLCS regulations. Pretty inconvenient, isn't it?

Prdc to jubilee via A4 takes 35 minutes. M25 takes about 45

Head to Hogarth Roundabout via Chiswick roundabout and A4 and then get on the A316 from there
