throwing off lapsed rounds

Since my P/L partner left a year ago they have never replaced him and the round has been lapsed ever since.
What has been happening is that they get people on S/A to throw off the 1st lot of walksorted before I get in and I don't go up on the IS and throw both rounds off.
As of last week the people on S/A who throw walksorted off for lapsed and p/t rounds rounds have been told to now throw 3 rounds off instead of 2 and the households for the lapsed rounds were always thrown off by the PHG in the cage or someone on light duties or rehab .
Now there is no more meat on the bone there is no one to do households on the lapsed rounds and expects me to do households for both rounds .
Yes I know I can cut off etc but who should be throwing the households off for lapsed rounds because its hardly fair for someone to be doing double everyday just because the other round is lapsed or can I leave them?

You've pretty much answered your own question.

You are obliged to follow any "reasonable requests" from your manager. If this is taking you over your time you have the option of booking it or cutting off.

Look at it this way. During work hours it is up to your manager what you do. The second your working hours finish it's up to you

When I was on Light Duties starting 6AM aside from Tuesday I could never throw 3 rounds off on my own and get them all out for 9AM bundled up. It's a joke.

Just inform him/her you cannot do it let them make a decision if it is still not good enough tell them and use the overrunning procedure if you need the money claim overtime if not finish on time.

D2D prep is part of prepping, don't leave yourself open to issues by not prepping it.

On a daily basis, if this extra prepping means you will go over on your own duty, inform your lino as soon as you think this will be the case. Tell them if you are happy to do overtime or want to finish when your contracted hours finish. Over-running procedure.

Chances are, nothing will change unless you put your foot down regularly, because you want to to finish when your contracted hours finish. As is your right.

I don't know about any other office, but in ours the person prepping the lapsed/flex walk doesn't deliver any of it. The extra indoor work is their "flex" bit.

As previously mentioned Household Prep is just another area of Indoor Work. Most DOs use it (along with prepping other walks) to "Bulk Out" the time element for some Duties that may not have enough Outdoor Work. Therefore you can't really refuse to do it, just like you can't refuse to do IPS.

Are managing to complete your Duty within time, even with the extra prep? If you are then you've got no argument. It's got nothing to do with being fair, RM expect everyone to work all their paid hours. Which TBH is only fair.

Personally I'd throw off both lots of Households, prep my own Duty, and then use the Over running Procedure. Telling the DOM I intended to finish on time and what did he want to do about it? I'd normally suggest leaving the appropriate amount of mail behind (for someone else to deliver). I wouldn't therefore have enough time to lapse/absorb either. On the plus side now the weathers getting WET again....You'll be spending more time in the Dry and less time out on Deliver!

As mentioned, unless you make a stand over it nothing will get done. Good Luck.
