Scissor lifts

I am an mgv driver I operate the scissor blift to offload the artic with mail.I have recently injured my back and blame this the scissor is loaded with 12 York's can anyone tell me the correct amount to load as my manager has no safe systems of work for it.

I'm not an MGV driver but I thought they're limited to 3 yorks at a time on the tail lift of an MGV

You mean the tail lift on wagon no that is two at a time.The scissor lift is attached to the landing on the dock.The hgv backs up to it with mail and is then offloaded with mail could be 90 odd York's .The lift takes 12 York's but I want to know the official maximum.

We have dock levellers instead of scissor lifts, I'm surprised that all MCs don't have dock levellers for all bays they use for loading and unloading artics. Down this way it's always been 3 yorks at a time for MGV tail lifts

At ours 12 is not allowed as you have to walk from end to end so 9 is max

Thanks for that I assumed 9 would be maximum as if you put 12 on you have to twist them into the scissor lift wall.This puts tremendous strain on your back and the manager and union rep seem clueless as to correct amount.

I am a network artic driver and I am pretty sure the official max is 9!
