Question regarding duties being advertised.

I'm a 25hr reserve and have been with RM for a few yrs. In the last 2 weeks we have had 2 cover men leave (25hrs) and another one is on his way next month. Are these positions not forced to get advertised ever? Im confident I would stand a good chance on one of these positions as a step up and for me to get it would mean a better stability on where iam regarding days off as well as not being as messed around as a reserve. If none are advertised soon can I make some request with the rep to get the management to do so or don't they have to advertise vacent positions?

AFAIK, a vacant duty should be advertised no later than 3 months after becoming vacant. Hopefully somebody can either confirm or deny this.

The Way Forward Agreement for advertising vacant duties is 6 months or 5% of the duties in the resourcing unit remaining vacant whichever comes first.
