November 2017 holidays

We been told that in November 2017 we can't pick the last two weeks because of Xmas pressure, this going national or they just trying it on here in Wales?

you dont get xmas pressure in nov lol
ask them for xmas arrangement plans and put in disagreement if the two dont tally up

Our office stopped the last week in November this year because of Amazon and other companies running Black Friday sales, Tracked items and packets go through the roof from the last two weeks of November until the final week in December, Drivers in our office cottoned on to this and all started taking the last week of November off, and this meant the office didn't have enough drivers and we started to fail

They r doing the same in our office in Birmingham...
we can't pick the holidays from 13th Nov till 26th Dec.they said the same that we hv Xmas pressure.

As long as everyone in the office gets to take their statutory holiday entitlement over the year, despite more weeks blocked off, all is fine and dandy. All it will mean is more OPGs will be off in other weeks.

and shouldn't we be able to take our holidays when we require them? We know December is a no go and they've tried blocking the start of the New Year,when next?

You can see the future,more on leave in summer more duties then for you to lapse

I heard this as well from our DOM. Apparently the last 2 weeks of Nov are to be blocked out for leave along with whole of Dec up to Christmas and I've noticed over the last couple of years that the week directly after Christmas has been reduced from 6 people off down to 3 so there is an obvious creep there as well to block that week off totally.

For the next few years Xmas pressure has unoffically started early November so at some point I'd expect RM will greatly reduce the leave ceilings for November

But you can have mid January to mid February we can all rejoice that we can watch the end of winter in all it's finest with hope that come April we can triple lapse and you can have two week's in summer but quadruple lapse!
