6 hour delivery

It should never happen. 6 hours every day in all extremes of weather? Thing with this proposal is the complete abscence of any regard for employees health and safety. How can a 6 hour delivery span, 5/6 days a week, in all extremes of weather, be anything other than extremely unhealthy, and extremely unsafe? Union needs to fight up for us on this one, pronto.

One reason they want to get rid of rest weeks.Then they can say we will "only" do 6hr deliveries for 5 days a week.

Only when you have buildings where you cannot use your duty's assigned LWT or HCT inside them (typically blocks of flats), in which case the pouch should weigh no more than 5Kg.

You then have a limited amount of time you can leave your LWT or HCT unattended, 1 minute for LWT and 10 minutes for a HCT locked to an immoveable object, if I recall correctly.

Binmen can leave jackets or coats in the lorry and can put them on within seconds of it starting to rain,bin men can keep their hands warm and dry by wearing gloves,binmen don't have to shove papiermache thru letterboxes,binmen don't have to write cards out every few houses,binmen don't have to drag full bins more than a few yards,binmen don't give a feck about dragging bins thru dogsh1te as they don't have to put the bins in the cab,binmen don't have to break off to empty a bin that's 5 streets away from where they are working because it's nearly 1300 hrs.

Binmen will have a set route as we do,But the big difference is that they have achievable workloads that can be done in the time allocated,Proper planning.

Not like our pathetic firm who have f****d up far too many deliveries nationwide,Aswell as the moral of their workforce.

Really?

I know a binman and the same crapola is happening to them as us. They even have their own "runners" which ruin the job for others.

My bin men refused to empty my bin as it was within about 4ft of my car saying ,they don't want to be liable for damage. You'd have to be pretty careless to hit a car with a bin that's 4ft away.
Now I leave the bin in middle of the courtyard so they have to empty it as it's in the way of their cart.
