Short term sickness meeting?

Hi all
I got injured yesterday out of work and ive been to the hospital who told me to take a few days off,
My manager is requesting i go in to him tomorrow which the office is 15 miles away and i have no form of transport for a sickness meeting?

It sounds like a load of rubbish to me but what do i do?

Hi... if your unable to get to work...

And your managers wants to see you....

Tell him to come to you..... that way it covers you... as a reasonable request..

The manager and the absent employee should
agree how often and by what method they will
contact each other until the employee returns
to work.
The above is an extract from the attendance agreement on short term absence. This clearly states that this has to be agreed between both parties therefore I suggest you contact this manager referring him/her to the attendance agreement that attending his/her office is not agreeable with you and suggest another form of maintaining contact.

Short term absense shouldn't require any meeting, if you were injured he may want you to fill in the accident report, that can surely be done over the phone.

You dont have to have a face to face meeting until you have been absent for 28 days.
Agree a point of contact,IE Phone call every 3 or 4 days but thats it.
It is in the attendance agreement no face to face until 28 days.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, he can't do s**t as long as you keep in contact. He'll no doubt try ringing your mobile tomorrow (probably several times if you don't answer it). I suggest blanking it until about an hour before you think he'll leave the office then give him a ring. He won't want you coming in for a meeting if it means he'll be hanging about past his usual skiving off time, and he can't complain because you've kept him updated.
