Manager thinks Im a DICKHEAD!?

HEllo fellow posties

I'll try keep it short

I been working in X DO on a 7hr Contract (Just Saturdays) for about 3 years now and xmas gone I asked for a 25hr contract which wasn't given to me but given to the xmas casuals who started after me....

so since then I've been doing my overtime (mon-fri) in another office and was told by my manger she was going to stop me doing overtime in the other office....

The following day at the "other" office the manager there said the area manager has spoken to them and they've agreed to ban me and stop me going to the other office..... what the f**k is that about

The way I see it is this.... My offîce wanted to keep USING me and wanted to keep taking ADVANTAGE of me because I did so much for them whilst at the same time not giving me that 25hr contract - and now that I've STOPPED doing overtime for them, they're under threat of my absence during the week... I asked for a transfer to the other office and the manager gave me bullshit saying she has to find someone to cover my Saturdays so CAN NOT release me (bollocks) and now shes trying to put a STOP on me doing overtime in another office????? OVertime is overtime boo, you can't stop s**t!? further more.. if you wanted me, I would've had the contract by now nah?

As per title... Manager thinks i'm a dickhead!?

Put in a grievance demanding a 25 hour contract.
People who started after you got one so thats redic.
Happened to me and my manager responsedo by saying sorry it was an oversight. Of course your manager sounds like a Dick head but speak to the union and put in a grievance.

And you're contracted for Saturdays at your office so how they can ban you working elsewhere in the week is beyond me

All managers think that we are all Dickheads.... Because there are enough of us that actually are dickheads for them to form that conclusion. Just as we know that all managers are Dickheads. A vicious circle.

Have you got a mail centre nearby. You could do overtime there and manager could not stop you. Go in the door and ask someone where the overtime forms are and where is the box you put it into when completed.

DOMs can stop staff from their DOs doing OT at an MC as it comes out the DO's budget afaik

Write to the area manager pointing out that his decision is a restriction of your ability to work/trade and is possibly illegal. Point out that you are contacting your Member of Parliament and Citizens Advice Bureau to verify whether his actions are in fact breaking any trading laws, bearing in mind that the DO you are contracted to is unable to offer you increased contracted hours.

He may think that you are a dickhead but you KNOW that he is a clipboard wielding nonce who sponges a living off the backs of others. Especially if he has a four wheel drive motor in Hairdresser White.

A transfer is on the books to the other office on a 25 hr contract but my DOM is delaying/blocking and now offering a 25 hr contract

Last week (13th Aug) she threatened to stop my pay and CONVENIENTLY, in Thursdays pay slip just gone (18th Aug) NONE of my overtime was paid... Went to her Saturday and she has claimed that she put it in on the PSP (I think its called that) but doesn't know why my overtime wasn't put in... so at the moment, I am 128 hrs behind... seems like a lot but she has missed more than one of my 552 overtime/docket sheets

Not if he does his OT after delivery hours (evening/night shift) as it makes no difference to deliveries, it comes out of the MC's budget...wether his DOM wants to pay him or not is another issue, He might have to put in a grievance but eventually the Dom would have to pay up & shut up.
Better not put a foot wrong on his 1 day delivery a week though!!

ot is voluntary and as such action by anyone to prohibit another from performing this would be illegal.
skills required to perform the task would have an impact if you are working away from your parent office but so long as you can get there and the times do not stop you from performing your own duty. AFAIK you would be at the bottom of any list off site.
