Commsave problem
Hi, I've entered into a debt management plan with Stepchange. One of my creditors is Commsave. Stepchange sent out paperwork twice to Commsave regarding my repayments, which include what I can now afford to make on my new budget.
It's been 2 weeks and Commsave are saying they still haven't received any paperwork and won't stop my £87 per week deduction until paperwork received and reviewed it.
Anyone else had issues like this. I feel like i'm being fobbed off!

They're awful to deal with when you need to adjust the repayments.
Surprised they are even acknowledging step change to be honest

Commsave problem
Commsave are disgusting to deal with a few in our office have had massive issues,In my eyes they are not a responsible lender.
Lads paying out £80 - £120 every week,Repaying loans to commsave and when something goes wrong and they ask for help,It seems to fall on deaf ears unless they pester pester pester,A lad rang and told them he needed to reduce payments as he had split from his wife,He was told "Just because you tell us that we cant just reduce the payments,We need proof"
Nearly an extra mortgage being pulled from pay,Its like they are forced to pay this set amount or tough s**t,Mortgages/Secured loans/Council tax/ are the priority bills and they are struggling to pay these because commsave are no help,I hope that stepchange pay them £5 a week and also report them to the financial ombudsman,Credit unions are supposed to help and i am hearing more and more horror stories about our work credit unions when people run into difficulties.
Exactly the same as you mention,Saying paperwork has not arrived etc,A very poor show indeed.

Never had a problem with them, absolutely brilliant service. I suppose it's the same old advice, never borrow what you can't afford to pay back.

Plenty of people can afford to pay back at the time of borrowing,Circumstances change for alot of people and sometimes this means they cant afford to pay the agreed rate,Hopefully this will never happen to you in the future and rue you're shallow comments.Jambomatt1874 wrote:Never had a problem with them, absolutely brilliant service. As i said,Commsave are great,Until someone needs a helping hand with payments,I also failed to mention a guy with 18 years service left our office and Royal mail because he was paying out a small fortune to the 3 credit unions and little or no help when he needed it most,So now works for Barclays Bank,He hates being in an office but is bringing home £300 + and the credit unions get small monthly payments,I find it totally unneceptable a man is basically forced to leave his long term job because he is no longer able to bring home a living wage,Maybe they are in cahoots with Royal Mail and just another way of forcing people out of the business,What sort of Human Recources refuse a request from a worker to reduce what they are sending to the credit union? It needs looking at and sharp.

I had issues with them when my cicumstances changed. Absolutely devoid of empathy. It was only mention of the financial ombudsman that helped them change their tune.

My son had a loan. When he had the loan he was residing in is own place and i was not is guarantor for this loan. He got sacked from royal mail and because commsave couldn't locate or contact him believe it or not they sent balliffs to my house chasing is debt. Commsave are disgusting.

but hey ho commsave is a credit union which uses other members savings to loan to other members, this means that if members that have loans don't pay them it affects everyone
I am a member, I have had loans ( which I paid back) and I have savings, this is a indication ( in my humble opinon) of the state of things today - do not borrow what you can't afford to repay - it is real money ( and other members money) a credit union is an alternative to banks who charge sky high interest and make huge profits, credit union's exist as an alternative with low interest rates because they are run for the members
I appreciate people's circumstances can change, but it is up to every member to only borrow what they can afford and to pay back what they owe for the good of everyone
Moaning because the credit union is chasing money the members are owed is out of order IMO - this is not some huge bank chasing to make profit - this is a credit union trying to get their member's money back
It's all taken on trust, maybe some of that has been misplaced

Yes people should pay back what they owe. But sending balliffs around for someone elses debt all because they are part of your family, that's bloody out of order in my book. I wasn't a guarantor for the loan or responsible for his debt. So don't say commsave are a decent credit union.

if they were bailiffs then your son didnt answer a court order of repayment.

I have been with Commsave since 2010 and I totally agree with you 'only borrow what you can afford' . It's easy to borrow than to repay like all other loans but as for me I will always support them. My circumstance have changed more than 4 times from sickness, unpaid leave to maternity leave and YES they have helped me without any problem. Just ring them explain your problem send your payslip so then can see exactly what you are left with after deductions they will definately help you.

it doesnt have anything to do with you, but theyre after him not you. If he hasnt updated his contact details and has your address still as where he is located, where do you expect them to turn up ? Seems like hes running away from the debt. Also theyre probably debt collectors not bailiffs, and they have no power other than to request money from the debtor.notts1862 wrote:Whats is his debt got to do with me. Commsave had is address and they had to check where Royal Mail sent is wage slip. So say hypothetically your son/daughter aunt or uncle are in debt and due to financial difficulties the default on payments. Then why should you be responsible for there debt. Nothing to do with you. So commsave are bang out of order sending balliffs to my house.

how did you know they were bailiffs and not debt collectors ?
courts send bailiffs, private firms send debt collectors.
